Good article here: The lesson from 9/11 that millennials have yet to learn

Fave quote: “Girls and boys and men and women need to think seriously about what to do in the event of unexpected violence, and how to act. It would be nice if we never had to think of this again, but these situations will not stop.”

Sadly true.

In the 1990s the official self-defense policy was, “If he wants your wallet, give him your wallet. Otherwise someone might get hurt.”

Therefore, of course, the policy discouraged people from carrying guns because self-defense was frowned on. Depend on the police.

In the case of hijackings, the official policy became, “If he wants the airplane, give him the airplane. Otherwise someone might get hurt.”

After 9-11, that policy was cancelled, for hijackings. Today it’s becoming less popular for schools and churches.
